David Huisman  •  Board President

David is President of the Board. David is Vice President of Commercial Lending at Lake Michigan Credit Union. He is serving his fourth term as a CAH Board member. Dave serves on the Margin Committee and is the past committee Chair and Board Treasurer. 

Dan Kolean  •  Treasurer

Dan is serving his second term on the Board. He is a CPA and partner in the accounting firm of Geenen & Kolean.

Sally Rietveld  •  Secretary

Sally is a Vice President with Chemical Bank and is serving her third term on the Board. She is a member of the Client Committee. Sally also serves on Community Housing Partnership (CHP) Advisory Board. The CHP program is a joint venture with Good Samaritan Ministries and area churches.

John Amell

John is newly elected to the Board. John is retired from the Haworth Corporation as an international corporate officer. He will be serving on the Development Committee.

Marc Bishop

Marc is a financial advisor for Wells Fargo, and is a new Board member serving on the Development Committee. Marc became interested in CAH by playing in the CG Golf Classic. He is also serves on the ad-hoc committees over seeing the relocation and expansion of CAH’s thrift store.

Mary Duistermars

Mary is the past Chair of the Development Committee. Mary is serving her fourth term. Mary is the past Executive Director of Tulip Time and currently is retired.

John Johnston

John is serving his first term on the Board. John served as the first Development Director hired by CAH. Since leaving the position, John is employed by Diversified Data Services and is the Chair of CAH Development Committee.

Lynn Kerber

Lynn is the Past President of the Board. She is the Regional President of Chemical Bank. Lynn is also the chair of the Culture Committee and is serving her second term on the Board.

Carol Jean King

Carol is serving on the Client Committee. Carol is a retired educator and speaks fluent Spanish. Carol also has extensive international travel experience. Carol is serving her first term on the Board and is the liaison with The Holland Community Garden.

Ben Phillips

Ben is serving his second term on the Board. Ben is a member of the Development Committee. Ben also serves on the ad-hoc committee overseeing the relocation and expansion of the thrift store. He is the former owner and founder of Great Lake Woods and is now retired.

John Ruiter

John is serving his second term on the Board. He is a member of the Margin Committee and is serving on the ad-hoc committee for relocating and expanding the thrift store. John is the Director of Planned Giving, Hope College, and has a law degree.

Carol Stroop

Carol is serving her first term on the Board. She is a member of the Client and Culture Committees. Carol worked 35 years for West Ottawa Schools as an elementary teacher and is now retired.

Carol Swart

Carol is serving her second term on the Board. She is a member of the Culture Committee. Carol has worked for various non-profit agencies including Greater Ottawa County United Way and as a Development Officer for the Holland Hospital Foundation.
