The staff at Community Action House makes every effort to treat all people with respect and fairness, and to provide knowledgeable, culturally competent services to members of the community. As a client, you have the right to receive services that you are eligible for; we cannot always provide every service for every client, but whenever possible, we will provide referrals and information about alternative community resources.

Foreclosure Prevention

Information

The Foreclosure Prevention Program assists homeowners in understanding the foreclosure process, budgeting for continued homeownership, and negotiating with mortgage companies to secure alternative work out options to avoid foreclosure. When foreclosure prevention is not an option, families will be provided ongoing support to transition into alternative affordable and stable housing. 

Eligibility

Any household at risk of losing their home to foreclosure and/or in the foreclosure process living in Ottawa or Allegan County should contact our office for more information.

Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00, by appointment only.

Our Process:

1.  Telephone interview

2.  Forms to be completed and signed (see below) and client documents to be gathered prior to setting appointment. 

3.  Once completed, call or email housing counselor to set up appointment.

4.  At appointment, housing counselor will collect and review documents, offer options based on each individual situation.
