Emergency Services

Emergency Services exist to provide for the immediate needs of community residents who are in crisis and unable to provide the essentials for living.  All those accessing emergency services meet with a caseworker who ensure their eligibility, offer support, and help prepare an action plan.

Food/Groceries

Groceries are available free of charge to those in need at both our Northside and Southside locations.  From canned goods to fresh bread, there is a ready supply of quality groceries to provide all daily meals to both large and small families.

Clothing

Our Southside location offers free clothing, ranging from shoes to belts, overcoats to baby items, and includes blankets and bedding as well.  Used clothing is distributed to low income families free of charge. Our clothing distribution days are Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Tues. and Thurs. from 1:00 to 4:30. Urgent clothing needs will be met on any work day.

Health Care

In cooperation with the American Red Cross, we assist community residents who are uninsured with the scheduling of medical, dental, and eye care appointments.

Homelessness Prevention

Avoiding homelessness for community members is one of our top priorities.  Families and individuals who are facing eviction or foreclosure, due to a sudden reduction in income, can receive short-term assistance with rent and mortgage payments.

Community Kitchen

The Community Kitchen is our doorway to those struggling with poverty.  Delivered through a partnership with Western Theological Seminary, the Kitchen provides a space to discuss the real needs and struggles of our neighbors while providing them with a free lunch.  The Community Kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 11.30am to 1.00pm and is located at the Seminary, 101 East 13th Street, Holland (corner of 13th & College Street).

Community Garden

The Community Garden exists to provide local families and individuals with fresh fruit and vegetables.  It is located at our Northside location at the Macatawa Resource Center (665 - 136th Avenue, Holland).  The Garden is manned by volunteers and operates between May and September every year.
